Panos London was established in 1986 as a UK registered charity (number 297366) limited by guarantee. It has a board of directors drawn from the UK and the various regions in which it works.
Panos London is one of a dynamic global Network of eight independent Institutes employing a combined staff of nearly 200 people. The Panos Network is legally registered as an international foundation in The Netherlands (Panos Network Stichting) and has a new Strategy 2010-15 which guides the work of all its members.

Panos London is committed to being open about both the praise and criticism we receive and openly responding to it.

Panos London and the ‘Fake Aid’ report
In September 2009 the International Policy Network published a report entitled: Fake Aid: How foreign aid is being used to support the self-serving political activities of NGOs which criticised the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), the Programme Partnership Arrangement and – as one of the current PPA holders (2005-11) – Panos London. The report was inaccurate and unfair and in October 2009 the Executive Director of Panos London wrote to IPN to explain why and to ask that the report be corrected. No response has been received from IPN and no clarification or revision has been made of its report – which is not surprising given IPN’s highly politicised agenda in which facts are not allowed to get in the way of a ‘good story’.
